About Peter Plaut
Peter Plaut has decades of financial experience in a variety of areas including researching, negotiating and structuring capital markets transactions. He has spent a number of years as a lead banker on numerous successful transactions and consultative assignments with senior management teams as well as Boards of Directors.
Because of his hard work, relaxed demeanour, and the ability to calm others in times of stress, Peter Plaut has always felt most comfortable negotiating large-scale projects with high-value clients who require significant amounts of capital.
One of Peter Plaut’s many strong qualities is his dedication to others. Even in college, he wasn’t satisfied with just getting his bachelor’s degree in Management Information Systems. He made time to organize multiple community events that brought people together. He ran the Management Honorary Society for Epsilon Delta Sigma and served as the President and Founder of the RPI Chapter of Zeta Beta Tau.
After he graduated from the prestigious JPMorgan training program, he became an Associate for taxable fixed income research. In this position, Peter performed fundamental analysis and trading recommendations on U.S. and European banks and U.S. agencies.
Peter next worked for Salomon Brothers as the Vice President of Emerging Markets & Corporate Bond Research. During the late 1990s, while he was employed at Salomon Brothers, Peter anticipated collapse in Korean sovereign, bank and corporate sectors. He was invited by the Korean government to be a ratings and financial advisor between 1997 and 1998. As a result, he was invited to serve as a term member at the prestigious Council on Foreign Relations, a program designed to teach future leaders about a collaborative effort towards foreign policy.
Peter Plaut also held several positions throughout his tenure with Bank of America, where he served as the Managing Director, Head of European Credit Research, and Head of Global Financial Institutions Research.
Following this, Peter was a Senior Analyst for Sanno Point Capital Management, a quantitative Hedge Fund established by the senior leaders of Deutsche Bank. Products that were traded included bonds, equity derivatives, loans, converts, CDS, LCDS, and recovery swaps. As a Portfolio Manager, Trader, and Senior Analyst for Hovde Capital, Peter became well-versed in all aspects of the trading business.
Working for Jeffries & Co, Inc, Peter Plaut served as Vice President of Leveraged Finance Sales. While there, he opened many new relationships in the financial sector and increased P&L with clients. As the Head of Capital Raising, Senior Vice President, and Sourcing & Special Situations for Penserra Securities, Peter personally sourced and placed over $1 billion in toll road bonds, among many other multi-million dollar projects.
He served as Head of Corporate Finance for High Yield Trading and Distribution of the Swiss Investment Corporation, an independent capital markets advisor. This was followed by a position with Oberon Securities, where he worked as Managing Director for Specialty Finance and Real Estate Investment Banking.
Currently, Peter Plaut is working in several high-profile positions. He is currently the Executive Director of the Wimmer Family Office, the winner of the Real Estate Investment Bank of the Year.
